About Cultivate

VISION

Cultivating leaders to live faithful Gospel-centered lives while being nurtured and empowered to begin new works with the faith that people will believe, follow, and multiply.

Cultivate is a leadership development program that raises up Cross Cultural Church Planters by developing, coaching and resourcing future leaders to start new work and lead healthy teams among UPGs and unreached areas across the world. Cultivate’s curriculum consists of four main sections: 8 Dimensions of Health, Theology, Missiology and Leadership. Cultivate starts with learning to lead self and becoming personally healthy, then learning to lead others, teams and more. We offer two different programs: one is online, available for workers around the world that have been on the field for at least a year, and another for new workers headed to Southeast Asia.

VALUES

Gospel - What is the Gospel? Getting the Gospel right is vital to the long-term hope of the church among the unreached. The Gospel is both for entrance into the kingdom and transformation of all areas of our life. It is crucial to get this right, because everything else flows from a right understanding of the Gospel.

Unreached - Unreached people groups are groups of people based on language, location, religion and culture where there are not enough Christians or resources to evangelize their people without outside help.

Growing Yourself -  We believe to lead others you also need to grow yourself. Our main problem is always ourselves and not others. It is imperative to work on ourselves, not just as a disciple of Jesus but also on our leadership. Self leadership is the starting place for leading others.

Growing Others - The best leaders make other leaders. Growing others is not just about making people better, but learning to intentionally transfer  your knowledge and skills to them. It is not just being the leader others want to work for, but always developing others to be as good as you or better.

Grow the Kingdom - The core work of the Cross Cultural Church Planter is to evangelize, disciple, plant churches and raise up local leaders, then train them to do the same. Healthy churches both have sound doctrine and reach the lost through evangelism, discipleship, and planting churches. Multiplication and maturity are not competing terms, but must go hand in hand.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS

OUR EXPECTATION OF PARTICIPANTS

 Growth-oriented

Participants will be expected to grow in all areas and have a humble spirit that allows for others to critique, but also a willingness to put in the work to change based off of the feedback.

 Adaptable

Participants need to be able to adapt, pivot or do what’s needed in the moment. Flexibility is a core trait of living cross-culturally.

Godly Character

Cultivators should meet the qualifications of a Deacon and be validated in their character by the leadership of their local church. An affirmation of character is required in the application process.

Self-led

Cultivators should be able to pace themselves through the core curriculum and keep up with all assignments during the program.

Hungry to Learn

Participants should have a constant learning spirit, willing to ask questions and think through the material on their own.
